Greenville, a mill village in the south-central part of New Hampshire, is the subject of this 1886 bird's-eye panorama. Its view shows the town as an observer high above would have seen it, with its streets, mills, churches, and houses drawn in careful detail. L. R. Burleigh's firm produced many such panoramic maps in the late 1800s, when towns commissioned them to show local businesses and promote growth. The map offers a useful record of how a small industrial community was laid out in the mid-1880s, when its textile works and rail connections shaped daily life.
