The standout in this set of four glass negatives is the sculpture the cataloger tentatively titled "The Laborer," a figure of a working man displayed within the museum. The other views record a museum courtyard, a group of antique chests and plaques, and a bust of a woman, and the subjects also include a deer. The building was then the Detroit Museum of Art, the institution now known as the Detroit Institute of Arts, which was expanding its holdings of sculpture and antiquities during these years. The Detroit Publishing Company, which documented the city's civic and cultural spaces, made the set, though the record dates it only to the 1920s.
