Garron Tower, a Gothic Revival mansion above the Antrim coast near Carnlough, drew visitors who came to stay as well as to see the building, and its hotel trade grew from the scenery of the surrounding Glens of Antrim and the sea below. This print is a photochrom, a color process developed in Switzerland that combined a black-and-white photograph with several hand-prepared stone plates, and the Detroit Publishing Company sold such views to American travelers and collectors in the early 1900s. The soft, saturated tones give the house and grounds a painted quality typical of the series.
