A footbridge crossing Pluto Creek at Geyser Springs in Sonoma County is the focus of this stereograph, which the record dates to about 1880. Andrew Price made it as number 13 in a numbered series of paired images, meant to be viewed through a stereoscope for a three-dimensional effect. Stereo cards like this were a popular parlor entertainment in the late nineteenth century, and Geyser Springs, a mineral-spring resort area, drew visitors who often bought such views as keepsakes. The footbridge and the creek below give a sense of how visitors moved through the grounds.
