Two a Day" is a 1938 color silkscreen poster for a Los Angeles revue billed as a cavalcade of vaudeville, a title that nods to the format's name. The phrase came from the custom of running two performances each day. The Federal theater Project, part of the Work Projects Administration's federal arts program, sponsored the show and put theater workers back on payroll during the Depression. By 1938, vaudeville had largely given way to motion pictures and radio, so a production that revisited its acts carried a note of nostalgia along with its entertainment value.
