A title dated May 31, 1923, places cowboys at the White House, though the record notes that it comes from unverified data written on the negative sleeve. The plate belongs to the National Photo Company Collection, the work of a Washington, D.C., studio that photographed the capital's people and events in the early twentieth century. Warren G. Harding was president at the time. The glass negative shows streaks and blemishes from deterioration of its original coating, a common trait of plates of this age.
