Someone identified as Dr. A. Pavichich is recorded here at the White House on October 10, 1922, though that name comes from unverified notes the National Photo Company wrote on the negative, so the identity is still uncertain. The company photographed Washington landmarks, officials and visitors throughout the early twentieth century, and the date places this picture during the Harding administration. Glass negatives like this one were coated by hand, and the streaks and blemishes visible on the plate come from the natural breakdown of those coatings over the decades.
