Advertising a product called Geyser Water, this color poster borrows the drama of a geyser, a natural wonder that drew tourists and promoters alike in the 1890s. The sheet was printed in San Francisco in 1893 by the firm Dickman, Jones & Hetrich, a commercial printer of the period. Its place on the Yellowstone board reflects how geyser imagery became tied to the park's fame after Congress set it aside in 1872, though the details of the product's origin come from an old caption card and have not been independently verified.
