Filed simply as "Baseball parks," this October 1920 print shows a ballpark with a game in progress, the kind of view that newspapers of the day ran to show fans and stadiums. The date falls at the opening of that year's World Series, which began in Brooklyn on October 5. The print comes from the George Grantham Bain Collection, a body of news photographs taken in New York, and its catalog entry places it in the library's group of ballpark and game-action pictures. Its value lies in how plainly it shows the crowded, open-air parks of the early 1920s.
