Frederick Warde's production of *Runnymede*, a play by William Greer Harrison, is advertised here with a scene of Friar Tuck facing a black knight, a pairing that recalls the medieval world of Walter Scott's *Ivanhoe*. The 1895 sheet was printed by the Strobridge Lithograph Company, a Cincinnati and New York firm that produced many touring theater posters in that era. Warde was an actor known for Shakespeare and romantic costume drama, and large colorful bills like this one helped draw audiences on the road.
