The caption names a governor called Moore alongside President Theodore Roosevelt, though the Bain News Service's title is unverified and the record gives no date. Bain's agency supplied photographs of officials and public events to newspapers in the early 1900s, and glass negatives such as this one were its working medium. Pictures pairing state officeholders with the president were common, since visiting governors and local leaders regularly met Roosevelt during his time in office.
