The caption pairs Theodore Roosevelt with a "Gov. Chase Templeton" and an Illinois setting, but the record notes that its title and date come from unverified Bain News Service data. The 1924 date also cannot fit Roosevelt, who died in January 1919, so the caption probably contains an error. Bain News Service produced many small glass negatives of public figures, political gatherings, and visits to Midwestern cities, and Roosevelt campaigned and spoke often in Illinois in the early 1900s. Viewers should treat the identifications as a starting point for further research.
