A drawbridge and a group of foreign visitors are the two details the catalog singles out here, both placed in Tokyo between 1850 and 1900. That was a period when Japan was opening to foreign trade and travel, and the city was renamed Tokyo in 1868. The attribution to Isoda Koryūsai, an Edo-period artist active from the 1760s to the 1780s, does not fit neatly with those later dates, so the 1750 date and the subject headings are best read as catalog estimates. The drawing still shows the careful line work and street-life subjects associated with Japanese drawing of the time.
