Few fair posters promise a journey around the world as directly as this one, which invites visitors to tour fifteen foreign villages at Chicago's Century of Progress International Exposition. The fair ran along the lakefront in 1933 and 1934 to celebrate a century of the city's growth, and its Midway held reconstructed villages meant to show everyday life in other countries. Designed by Weimer Pursell and printed by the Neely Printing Company in 1934, this color silkscreen reflects the bold, simplified style common in commercial posters of the decade. It is a useful record of how the fair sold itself to the public in its second season.
