Troy's City Hall survives here as a single 8 by 10 inch glass negative, one of many civic views the Detroit Publishing Company made in the early twentieth century. Its catalog number, 018823, and a 1906 company catalog suggest a date around 1905, though that date is an estimate. The company sold such views to travelers and publishers, so its pictures often record a town's main public buildings as they stood at the time. The negative reached the Library of Congress as a gift from the State Historical Society of Colorado in 1949.
