The title sets this poster apart: it casts the Federación Anarquista Ibérica (FAI) as fighting on two fronts at once, the bloody battlefront and the front of labor, and claims that struggle for humanity. Printed in Barcelona by the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (CNT), the anarcho-syndicalist union that worked closely with the FAI, it dates from the Spanish Civil War, which began in July 1936. The catalog lists it under air operations, a reminder that the war was fought in the sky as well as on the ground. Posters like this one were used to rally workers and recruits in a city where the CNT and FAI held considerable influence.
