Dr. Enselio Ayala and J.B. Wright appear at the White House in this glass negative, dated January 29, 1925. The picture comes from the National Photo Company, a Washington studio that recorded officials, visitors and street scenes in the capital in the early twentieth century. The names are taken from the negative sleeve and have not been independently verified. Streaks and blemishes across the glass come from the natural breakdown of the original coatings, and they are part of the plate's physical history.
