Rather than a scene recorded directly, this glass negative copies a painting of a woman with her children, and the cataloger supplied the title because the original work is not named in the record. The Detroit Publishing Company, based in Detroit and active into the 1920s, made many photographic reproductions of artworks for wide sale, and this entry carries its catalog number, M334. The 8 by 10 inch dry plate was a common format for careful copy work of the period. The State Historical Society of Colorado gave the negative to the Library of Congress in 1949.
