The building here is Alumni Memorial Hall on the campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, a memorial to alumni who served in the nation's wars. The Detroit Publishing Company, which produced large numbers of American views for travel and sale around the turn of the twentieth century, likely made this 8 x 10 inch glass dry plate negative between 1910 and 1920. The plate is cracked across its center, a common sign of age in glass negatives, and it came to the Library of Congress as a 1949 gift from the State Historical Society of Colorado.
