Folded shut, this card looks like a single panel, but opened it shows two ballplayers, one on each half, which is the format that gave the Mecca Double Folders their name. The American Tobacco Company issued the set in 1911 as a premium packed with its Mecca cigarettes, and collectors catalog it as T201 in the American Card Catalog. The color printing combines relief and halftone techniques, and cards like this were collected and traded by fans who had few other ways to see the players' faces in print.
