The poster advertises a run at the playhouse on Tulane and South Miro streets from April 26 to May 7, 1936, the detail that sets this production apart. The show was *Art and Mrs. Bottle*, a comedy by the English playwright Benn Levy, staged by the Federal theater Project, one of the New Deal arts programs of the Works Progress Administration created to employ theater workers during the Depression. The poster was made by silkscreen, a method the WPA art projects used widely because it allowed inexpensive runs in bold, flat color.
