Drawbridges and foreign visitors in Tokyo are the subjects this drawing is catalogued under, which sets it apart from the generic title. The record's dates don't agree with each other, though. It gives 1750, but the artist, Isoda Koryūsai, is listed as active from 1764 to 1788, and the subject headings point to 1850 to 1900. Koryūsai was an Edo-period painter and printmaker known for courtesan portraits and landscapes, so the attribution and the subject headings may describe different periods. The drawing is part of the David Murray Collection at the Library of Congress.
