Corry, a town in Erie County in northwestern Pennsylvania, appears here from a high oblique angle, so its streets, rail lines and buildings spread across the sheet as if seen from a nearby hill. The town grew quickly after oil was discovered in the region in the 1860s, and its railroad connections made it a regional hub, which is why the tracks and yards are prominent. Panoramic artists such as T. M. Fowler typically combined surveys with field sketches to draw towns as they looked from above. The result offers a detailed picture of Corry's layout in the mid-1890s.
