This 1936 poster announces the final performance of a production titled *Last Night of Don Juan*, staged in Los Angeles under the Federal theater Project, the New Deal program that put unemployed actors, directors, and stagehands back to work during the Depression. The Federal theater Project ran theaters across the country, and its productions were promoted with posters made by the Works Progress Administration's graphic arts units. Silkscreen was a practical choice for these posters because it allowed artists to print bold, flat areas of color in quantity on a limited budget. The result is a useful record of how regional theater was advertised during the period.
