Brigadier General Ronald Starrs is the subject of this glass negative, which carries a date of February 7, 1923 from the National Photo Company's caption data. The Library of Congress notes that this title and date are unverified. The National Photo Company worked in Washington, D.C., in the early twentieth century, documenting officials, military figures and public events. This example entered the collection as a gift from Herbert A. French in 1947. Viewers may notice streaks and blemishes, which stem from natural deterioration of the original coatings.
