Feldgraue Druckkunst," or "Field-gray Printing Art," takes its name from the gray uniforms of the German army, and it promotes an exhibition held in Vilna, now Vilnius, Lithuania, organized around the printing trades and the 10th Army's newspaper. German forces occupied the city from 1915 until the end of the war in 1918, and the show reflects an effort to present cultural life under military administration. The color lithograph is credited to Fred Hendriok and dated 1917. Its images of soldiers and military standards show how the wartime exhibition was framed for the public as well as for the troops.
