A 1937 silkscreen poster announces the second week of *Chalk Dust* in Cincinnati, a run extended, the text says, by popular demand. The Federal theater Project, part of the Works Progress Administration, sponsored the production and put unemployed actors, designers and stagehands back to work during the Depression, often offering tickets at low prices. Its posters were made by the WPA's Federal Art Project, and silkscreen was a cheap, flexible method that let artists produce bold, multicolored designs in quantity. The poster is a useful record of how local theater was promoted in that period.
