Ernst Toller's satire *No More Peace* gets a local stage in this silkscreen poster, which announces a Cincinnati production. Toller, a German playwright who had fled the Nazis, wrote the piece in the mid-1930s as a sharp warning about rearmament and the approach of another war, a concern that gave it urgency in 1937. The Federal theater Project, a division of the Works Progress Administration, staged plays like this across the country to employ theater workers during the Depression. James H. Murphy's color design reflects the bold graphic style of the WPA poster program, and a June 4, 1937 date stamp on the back helps place the print in time.
