Advertising the Rentz-Santley Novelty and Burlesque Company, this 1898 color lithograph carries the caption "The new burletta: a night's frolic," where "burletta" refers to a short comic musical piece rather than a full-length play. The H.C. Miner Lithographing Company of New York printed it, and the firm was among the busiest makers of theatrical posters of its day. The lower left corner is missing, a common sign of wear on posters that were pasted to walls and fences and left outdoors.
