Philadelphia is the only place named for this color silkscreen, which announces an exhibition of drawings under the single word "Drawings." The Pennsylvania Federal Art Project of the Works Progress Administration designed and printed it sometime between 1936 and 1941. Silkscreen was an economical method that let WPA artists produce bold, flat-color posters in small runs, and posters like this one publicized the exhibitions and arts programs the federal project sponsored across the state.
