A stereograph card dated around 1900 shows pottery making in Cuba, a craft practiced in the island's towns and countryside long before American photographers arrived. The card was copyrighted by B.L. Singley and issued by the Keystone View Company, whose stereoviews sold in large numbers for parlor viewers that merged two nearly identical photographs into one three-dimensional scene. Issued in the years after the Spanish-American War, views like this gave armchair travelers a glimpse of everyday Cuban labor, though the caption details are unverified.
