Warren G. Harding, the 29th president of the United States, is the subject of this glass negative, which the National Photo Company made around 1920, the year he won the Republican nomination and then the election. Harding served as president from 1921 until his death in 1923, and the company's studio produced many formal portraits of officials of that era for newspapers and publications. The record's title comes from notes written on the negative sleeve, so the label is not fully verified, and the negative shows streaks and blemishes from deterioration of its original coating.
