A glass negative titled *Mrs. Harding*, though the name comes from an unverified note on the negative or its sleeve, and the record does not otherwise identify the sitter. The plate measures 8 by 6 inches and is dated from negatives in the same range, roughly 1919 or 1920. It belongs to the National Photo Company Collection, the work of a Washington, D.C., studio that made large numbers of portraits and views on glass during this period. It came to the Library of Congress as a gift from Herbert A. French in 1947, and its streaks and blemishes come from deterioration in the original coatings.
