The record identifies this glass negative as a group portrait of Central Americans taken in 1922, though that title comes from notes the National Photo Company wrote on the negative sleeve and has not been independently verified. The National Photo Company was a commercial studio that made photographs of people and places for decades, and Herbert A. French donated this negative to the Library of Congress in 1947. Glass plates of this age often develop streaks and blemishes as their original coatings deteriorate, so the image may look hazy in places.
