Few sites in the Holy Land are as remote as the summit of Mount Hor, where the Book of Numbers places the death of Aaron, brother of Moses. David Roberts drew the small domed shrine that stands there, a place Muslims also revere as the tomb of the prophet Haroun, and Louis Haghe transferred the sketch into a color lithograph. It was issued by F.G. Moon as part of *The Holy Land*, a series that brought Roberts's travel drawings of Egypt, Syria and Arabia to British readers in the 1840s. Roberts made the sketches on his Near Eastern journey of 1838 and 1839.
