Ahora o nunca" ("Now or never") presses its viewer toward an immediate choice, a sharper call than many Civil War posters that simply urged general sacrifice. The imprint places its printing in Bilbao, a Basque city that changed hands in June 1937 after a northern campaign, which ties the sheet to the wartime propaganda work of the period. Issued as a color lithograph between 1936 and 1939, it belongs to a body of posters that both sides used to rally soldiers and supporters.
