Headlined "We accuse the fascists of murder!", this color lithograph was issued by the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo of the Levante region, the anarchist-led labor federation active around Valencia. Its subject is aerial attack on civilians, and the record ties the bombing to German air operations in Spain. Printed between 1936 and 1939, it belongs to a wave of Republican-aligned posters that used grieving mothers and crying children to rally support and publicize civilian deaths. German Condor Legion planes supported Franco's forces, and their bombing of civilian targets, most famously Guernica in April 1937, fed this kind of propaganda.
