This Copenhagen poster, printed around 1946 by the firm Dyva & Jeppesens Bogtrykkeri, advertised the Danish release of *Lassie Come Home*, the 1943 Hollywood film with Roddy McDowall as the boy whose collie is sold away and then makes her way back to him. The story began as Eric Knight's 1940 novel, and the film made its collie hero, Lassie, one of the most recognized dogs on screen. Posters like this one show how American films were marketed to European audiences in the years just after World War II, when cinemas were reopening and families were eager for family-friendly entertainment.
