Few places along the Central Pacific line carry as much history as Donner Lake, the mountain lake near Truckee where the Donner Party was trapped during the winter of 1846 to 1847. This print, titled as a study of trees on the lake's shore, dates from the years when the railroad was being pushed over the Sierra Nevada.
