Few pictures on this board bring together a labor organizer and a Roosevelt, and this 1924 group portrait does exactly that. It shows Mary Harris "Mother" Jones, the longtime union organizer and activist, posed with Theodore Roosevelt Jr. and with Calvin and Grace Coolidge. In 1924 Calvin Coolidge was in the White House, and the Republican Party was looking toward that year's election. The record does not name the occasion, but the mix of faces suggests a public event or a formal meeting of political and reform figures.
