Quentin Roosevelt, the youngest son of President Theodore Roosevelt, is shown chasing June bugs in a field at Sagamore Hill, the family's home on Long Island's Oyster Bay. The record dates the print to about 1904, a period when the president's household spent time there away from Washington. The photograph is credited to Edward S. Curtis, who was best known for his large series on Native American peoples, so this informal family scene stands apart from much of his work. The date and caption details come from an older card and have not been independently verified.
