A 1913 Kemp tractor powered by a six-cylinder air-cooled engine sets this print apart from other farm-machinery views on the board. Air-cooled engines shed heat through metal fins and moving air instead of a water jacket and radiator, which made them lighter and removed parts that could leak or freeze, so makers of both tractors and early aircraft found them appealing. The catalog record also lists airplanes as a subject, a pairing that reflects how closely engine design for farm and flying machines overlapped in the 1910s. The date is marked with a question mark, so 1913 is best read as an estimate.
