Three names, A.E. Seymour, J.D. Dreyfuss and Isaac Gams, appear in the title of this glass negative, dated September 12, 1923. The title comes from unverified notes the National Photo Company wrote on the negative or its sleeve, so treat the names with caution. The company was a Washington, D.C., commercial studio, and its glass plates reached the Library of Congress through a 1947 gift from Herbert A. French. Look closely for streaks and blemishes, which reflect the natural deterioration of the original coating.
