This is a New York edition of *Goody Two-Shoes*, a small book whose title page advertises ten engraved pictures. The story first appeared in London around 1765, when it was among the earliest books written specifically for children, and it follows a poor girl who becomes known for her cleverness and virtue after she finally gets a pair of shoes. The record gives no date, but the New York imprint shows the tale had crossed the Atlantic and was being reissued for American young readers. Its engraved plates are worth a look for how they show children's clothing, schooling, and daily life.
