The house on the 300 block of Third Street Northwest is identified in its record by the Sherman name, although that label comes from unverified data written on the negative sleeve. The National Photo Company, which recorded Washington's streets and buildings in the early twentieth century, likely made this glass negative between 1910 and 1920, based on dates assigned to similar plates in the same group. Streaks and blemishes across the plate result from natural deterioration of its original coatings, a common condition in glass negatives of this age.
