Plate DZ, from the sixth volume of Albert Racinet's *Le costume historique*, presents Scottish dress in color lithograph, with the print credited to the lithographer Nordmann. Published in Paris by Firmin-Didot in 1876, the plate reflects Racinet's effort to document clothing from many countries and periods for artists, theater designers and historians. Its focus on regional Scottish dress also shows the nineteenth-century fascination with national costume as a marker of identity.
