A camel and a group of musicians share the sheet, a pairing the record highlights in its subject headings. The design is signed as Utagawa Kuniyasu's, a pupil of Utagawa Toyokuni, and its seal date places it in 1824, when camels were still rare in Japan and drew crowds wherever they were shown. The woodblock was cut by Koizumi Minokichi, who lived from 1833 to 1906, so this impression was probably printed decades after the original design appeared, a reminder that popular prints were often recut and reprinted.
