The only name attached to this view is Conway, a title the National Photo Company wrote on its negatives or sleeves that the library has not verified. The company produced a large body of American town views, landmarks and street scenes in the early twentieth century, many later sold as postcards. This 4-by-5-inch glass negative, dated to about 1920, came to the Library of Congress as a gift from Herbert A. French in 1947. Streaks and spots visible on the plate come from the aging of its original coating rather than from the scene.
