Galt & Bro., a long-established Washington jeweler, is the business named on this exterior view, which shows its storefront as it looked around 1920. The glass negative comes from the National Photo Company, a commercial studio that documented Washington streets and businesses in the early decades of the twentieth century for residents and visitors. The plate shows streaks and blemishes from the natural deterioration of its original coating, and the title is recorded as unverified, so the store's identity rests on the label written on the negative sleeve.
