A St. George and the dragon motif sets this 1915 lithograph apart from the other posters on the board. It advertises an imperial patriotic meeting at the Guildhall in the City of London on Wednesday, May 19, 1915, organized by the Central Committee for National Patriotic Organisations. That body was formed in 1914 to coordinate civilian groups supporting Britain's war effort, and the poster's medieval English saint was a popular symbol for the national struggle. The printer, The Press Printers Ltd. of Long Acre, produced many wartime posters.
